Service Description
I specialize and provide culturally competent psychological evaluations. These include extreme hardship waivers, cancellation of removal waivers, as well as asylum, VAWA, and U visa & T visa cases. My approach is to work closely with clients and their attorneys to provide a thorough evaluation process in a safe and welcoming environment. I offer thorough, professional evaluations and a quick turnaround time. My carefully detailed reports address the most important questions about your case. While conducting each Immigration Psychological Evaluation, I assess client/family social and emotional factors. In addition to completing each assessment, I impart crisis intervention and short-term counseling. With the information provided throughout the assessment, I develop a plan of care and make recommendations based on the patient/family needs. I have considerable clinical experience working with underserved and marginalized populations as well as culturally diverse children, adolescents, adults and families. I am well-aware of the impact of abuse and trauma, loss, separation, anxiety, stress and depression can affect one emotionally socially, relationally, academically, occupationally and developmentally. Process & Completion: A typical evaluation process would include two interview sessions over the course of one to two weeks. I will collaborate with your attorney to ensure that my evaluation most effectively documents the impact of your immigration situation on your mental health. Most interviews will be conducted via Telehealth and alongside a certified interpreter if necessary. After you or your lawyer request an evaluation, I will send you paperwork to complete prior to your first appointment. Your evaluation may take 1-2 hours per interview session. The evaluation will cover different aspects of your life such as personal and family history, mental and physical health, trauma history, components about your immigration case and other important information about your life. After I finish the evaluation interviews, I will then write a report which can be from 12-20 pages. You can expect to receive your finalized report 2-3 weeks after the second appointment. *Unless you are requesting an expedited evaluation* Types of Immigration Cases We Can Assist : U Visa Asylum Extreme Hardship (601 & 601A) Cancellation of Removal VAWA (domestic violence) *There is an additional $300 fee for expedited evaluations.
